How to tune into your body: bringing sexy back!

I talk a lot about self talk, mindset, and acceptance when it comes to your body.

One thing I haven’t talked a lot about is feeling sexy in your body.

Sexy in a way that is just for you, a way for you to feel connected and insync with your body.

As someone who struggled with insecurities about my body for years, and still do, I often find myself covering up. Wearing oversized clothes and hiding my body away underneath tent-sized dresses or outfits. While these outfits can be comfortable and sometimes even serve as a security blanket, they don’t unlock that sexy feeling for me.

So here is what I do when I want to feel sexy in my body. When I want that feeling of power and connectedness to myself:

  • Do all the self care stuff I love (anyone else obsessed with a face mask?)

  • Put on an outfit I love that makes me feel HOT. Maybe it is a crop top and jeans, maybe it is a dress that highlights a part of my body I like. Or maybe it is just a sports bra and leggings.

  • Do something for you in that outfit. Go to get a drink with a friend, go for a walk, read a book on a bench. Let yourself bask in that outfit for you.

  • Take it off when it doesn’t feel comfortable or fun for you anymore.

If you’ve had your sexy crop top moments and now you just want to change into a more comfortable bra or outfit or whatever, go for it. But here is the KEY:

Connect with how your body feels in that clothing. Maybe run your hands along your body. Maybe remind yourself that your body can be sexy, that you can feel sexy, and that no matter your shape or size or cellulite, you are allowed to feel sexy in your body.

This is all part of that mindset work, tuning in to how you feel in your body, how it can make you feel and the positive power that you are allowed to give it. If you have questions about feeling empowered and sexy in your body, send me a message!
